Abstract | Used as sensitizer materials in solar cell devices (PSCs), the 3D hybrid perovskites (HPs) of ABX3 type have recently revolutionized the field of photovoltaic, giving power conversion efficiencies over 22%. However, these 3D HPs have major disadvantages. The objective of the MORELESS project is to synthesize new hybrid perovskites, to address the issues of instability to moisture (MORE stable materials) and toxicity (LESS lead content) raised by MAPI and related perovskites in the context of advanced solar cell technologies. The project involves a consortium of four partners having complementary skills for the design, synthesis and characterization of new perovskites (X-ray diffraction, solid state NMR etc.), thin film engineering, preparation and characterization of PSCs as well as first-principle calculations. Chemistry is the key point of this project : MORELESS will rely on two strategies : d-MAPI materials, a new family of HPs that we discovered recently, and iodobismuthate hybrids.
