Abstract | This project proposes an efficient pathway to increase affordability, reliability and manufacturability of highly efficient photovoltaic tandem modules with low carbon footprint. We have all the elements in place to build a 36-month program aiming to demonstrate a fast and scalable route to rapidly manufacture fully encapsulated and reliable perovskite/silicon four-terminal (4T) bifacial tandem modules >100 cm² in size with certified efficiencies >30%. We will validate reliability with both indoor and outdoor accelerated testing. Our work mitigates the foremost barriers to wide scale commercial deployment of perovskite/silicon tandem, based on the combination of low carbon footprint, high efficiency and low-cost fabrication processes.
